Effect of mechanical and chemical surface treatment on bond strength of acrylic denture teeth to heat cure acrylic resin-an invitro study

چکیده

Debonding of denture teeth from the base has posed a great problem to clinician and patient. Chemical mechanical treatments have been performed separately, but there are no studies using combination chemical surface treatments. This study aims at evaluating comparing bond strength by 60 maxillary right central incisor were used in 5 groups for treatment on ridge lap area: 1 untreated, 2-sandblasting, group 3- Heat cure monomer, 4- sandblasting+ 5- Dichloromethane. The acrylic attached wax block an angle 45º. These flasked dewaxed, followed acrylisation. All cured specimens loaded under universal testing machine palatal cross head speed 1mm/min till fracture occurred. Data obtained was statistically evaluated one way ANOVA. Surface with dichloromethane showed highest heat when compared sandblasting monomer application. On visual analysis fractured specimens, maximum amount cohesive failures noticed group. Dicholoromethane can be as effective quick method improve bonding base.

Effect of Mechanical Modification of Acrylic Resin Denture Teeth Bonded to Acrylic Denture Base

Techniques for bonding denture teeth to acrylic resin denture base remains empirical, with little consensus from the literature, among clinicians or among dental laboratories. Despite of this great variation, the data available regarding effectiveness of various methods used are sparse. The study was carried out to compare the effect of different surface treatments of ridge lap area of acrylic ...

Shear Bond Strength of Acrylic Denture Teeth to PMMA and Polyamide Denture Base Materials

Introduction: Detachment of denture teeth from denture base is one of the most common reasons for costly denture repairs .This study aimed at evaluating the bond strength of an acrylic denture tooth to polyamide injection-molded thermoplastic denture base material compared with three conventional polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) denture base resins. Materials and Method: A total of 40 acrylic dent...

Bond Strength of Repaired Acrylic Denture Teeth Using Visible Light Cure Composite Resin

BACKGROUND Although bonding to denture teeth after surface treatment with chemical agents is desirable, there is little information on the use of Visible Light Cure composite resin (VLC) as bonding denture materials. OBJECTIVES To determine the effect of various surface treatments on shear bond strength between Visible Light Cure composite resin and the acrylic denture teeth interface. METH...

Shear bond strength of acrylic teeth to acrylic denture base after different surface conditioning methods.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Acrylic resin ruled the dental profession for 60 years, and this success is attributed to its aesthetics, handling properties, physical and biological compatibility, its stability in oral environment and its cost effectiveness. The objective of this study is to evaluate and compare the bond strength of acrylic resin teeth treated with various conditioning materials lik...
